
Rules & Regulations
1. Eligibility
Bravura Piano Competition is open to amateur pianists of all ages. An amateur is defined as a performer who does not derive their primary income from piano performance.
2. Age Determination
Age-based divisions will be determined as of 1 January of the competition year.
3. Entries

All entries must be submitted online before the published closing date.

Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organisers.

Entry fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Entry fees are non-refundable except where a section is cancelled by Bravura.
4. Divisions

Competitors may enter only one AMEB grade division.

Competitors should enter the division that best reflects their current level of study.

Bravura reserves the right to reassign competitors to a more appropriate division if required.
5. Repertoire Requirements

Competitors will perform one piece only.

The selected work may be from any recognised piano repertoire.

Arrangements are permitted unless otherwise stated.

Memorisation is encouraged but not compulsory.
6. Performance Duration

There are no strict time limits.

Competitors are asked to be considerate of scheduling.

Performances exceeding 7 minutes may be subject to approval by the organisers.
7. Sheet Music

Competitors are not required to submit sheet music prior to the competition.

Bravura reserves the right to request a copy of the score for adjudication or verification purposes.
8. Adjudication

All performances will be assessed by appointed adjudicators.

Adjudicators will use Bravura's official scoring criteria.

All adjudicators' decisions are final.

No correspondence regarding results will be entered into.
9. Awards

Awards, certificates, medals, trophies, and special prizes are presented at the discretion of the organisers.

Bravura reserves the right not to award a placing where the required standard has not been met.
10. Performance Order

Competitors must perform in the order published in the official program.

Requests for changes may not be accommodated.
11. Photography & Videography
-
Competitors and audience members may photograph or record only their own child or family member.

Bravura may photograph or film the event for promotional purposes.

If a competitor does not wish their image to be used, written notification must be provided before the event.
12. Publication of Results

Competitor names, results, award recipients, and photographs may be published on the Bravura website and social media platforms.

Requests for exclusion must be submitted in writing prior to the competition.
13. Conduct
-
Competitors, teachers, parents, and audience members are expected to behave respectfully at all times.

Unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in disqualification.
14. Changes to the Competition
Bravura reserves the right to amend schedules, divisions, venues, adjudicators, awards, and competition procedures where necessary.
15. Cancellation Policy
In the event of circumstances beyond Bravura's control, including venue issues, illness, extreme weather, government restrictions, or other unforeseen events, the organisers reserve the right to postpone, reschedule, modify, or cancel the competition.
16. Limitation of Liability
Bravura accepts no responsibility for loss, damage, injury, theft, or personal property brought to the venue. Participation in the competition is at the competitor's own risk.
17. Acceptance of Rules
Submission of an entry constitutes acceptance of all Bravura Rules and Regulations.
